Imported bookmarks don't show on bookmarks toolbar

msturdy77

I have a new Windows 11 lap top and have been trying to make Firefox work the same as on my Windows 10 laptop. I looked at "Bookmarks import doesn't show bookmarks on title bar? " and tried to follow the instructions. The result is that the bookmarks toolbar contains both "Import bookmarks" and "Bookmarks menu" but not the actual Bookmarks Toolbar titles. The Library shows:

   *All Bookmarks (The asterisk is bold inside a square)
         Bookmarks Toolbar
         Bookmarks Menu
               Mozilla Firefox        (Get Help}
               Mozilla Firefox        (Help and Tutorials)
               Mozilla Firefox        (Help and Tutorials)
               Bookmarks Toolbar
                    Finance
                    Trade
                      (et al)
         Bookmarks Toolbar
              Finance
              Trade
                 (et al)
   $Bookmarks Menu ($ is actually a menu emoji)
         Mozilla Firefox              (Get Help}
         Mozilla Firefox              (Help and Tutorials)
         Mozilla Firefox              (Help and Tutorials)
         Bookmarks Toolbar
              Finance
              Trade
                (et al)
   %Other Bookmarks (% is actually folder emoji)

As you can see, I am going round in circles. I do not understand properly how bookmarks work. On my old Winows 10 laptop, I managed by trial and error to get something that I could use, but now I am mostly getting error.

What you are showing is not the Bookmarks toolbar

For that Right click the toolbar in a space and select Customise Toolbar

Then bottom left you have an option to use the Bookmarks toolbar, usually position under the address/main bar

選擇的解決方法

I was showing the result of selecting "Bookmarks" from the Firefox menu, then "Manage all bookmarks", which opened a window called Library. I still don't really understand what went on to cause the Library to look like that, but I solved my problem by copying each title from the Library in turn and pasting it into the Bookmarks toolbar, finally getting rid of "Import bookmarks" and "Bookmarks menu" from the Bookmarks toolbar. I then tidied up the library. What I had been hoping for was a rather less tedious method for restoring how the Bookmarks toolbar looked on my old laptop in one operation. Anyway, problem finally solved
