I clicked on the bookmarks icon to open one up, and there's nothing there. where did my bookmarks go? It's been a week, maybe, since I last used the bookmarks menu

I continuously have a problem trying to get the location scroll bar to execute when I bookmark an item. It never scrolls twice consecutively, and I have to keep opening and closing the scroll to get it to function properly. I bookmark several news articles, stories, etc. every day, and I get kinda snarly after awhile. Any relevant help would be welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

I am constantly building a default tabset of approx 10-15 tabs in my FF browser on my Macbook (in case something differs from FF on Windows.

I have a default tabset saved in my bookmarks. But when I add a new tab or rearrange their order and I go to save all tabs selected, is there a way to just over-write my current bookmark tabset? All I have been able to do is keep adding and "nesting" in my bookmarks which makes a mess - a dogs breakfast to the bookmarks manager set. Even when I select my bookmark default by name, it simply keeps the original and keeps "nesting" under it, which takes more time to babysit in cleaning it up.

Wish FF would spend more time on bookmarks and clean this up so I can simply "overwrite" rather than nesting and building a "tree of bookmarks"?

I have a new Windows 11 lap top and have been trying to make Firefox work the same as on my Windows 10 laptop. I looked at "Bookmarks import doesn't show bookmarks on title bar? " and tried to follow the instructions. The result is that the bookmarks toolbar contains both "Import bookmarks" and "Bookmarks menu" but not the actual Bookmarks Toolbar titles. The Library shows:

As you can see, I am going round in circles. I do not understand properly how bookmarks work. On my old Winows 10 laptop, I managed by trial and error to get something that I could use, but now I am mostly getting error.

I use a PC, Windows 11. All my bookmark titles still show, but when I click nothing happens, does not open, does not go to new page, nothing! This is now the second time on two different PC'S. on the first, I reloaded FireFox, nothing changed, so I delete complete (uninstalled) and reinstalled a fresh one. Of course I lost all my bookmarks!! Now, the exact thing has happened on my main PC, and I do not want to loose all my bookmarks! I can't even export them to a different browser!

Hi, On Firefox for Android, when entering bookmarks and browse through to my wanted bookmark and here is the issue, when i close the bookmarks and open bokkmarks again the bookmarks path start from the beginning while i expected it puts me to the recent bookmark that i searched before.

Adjust this behaviour and make the bookmarks remember the last bookmark location and puts you right there in the start.

While in privacy mode to websites managed to become bookmarks. I did not intentionally bookmark them i have deleted both bookmarks, however both appear when i start typing a similiar web address. How do i get rid of them for good? (I have deleted history)

Several times I've seen Firefox bookmarks becoming lost, disorganized, or duplicated. The missing ones have typically been folders of bookmarks. The duplications have been typically of folders. The disorganizations have been folders ending up in a different position in the list, often at or near the bottom when that's not where I put them. What causes this, and can it be prevented?

I can't figure out which topic to use for this but I can't submit it without one.

When I click on the star icon in the address bar the star icon is filled in, and existing bookmarks do show with the filled-in star icon and they work. But I no longer get a dropdown where I can assign a folder, edit, tag, or delete an existing bookmark, and the pages I've tried to bookmark don't show up in Recently Bookmarked so they haven't been added. I don't know if it has something to do with the toolbar?

Nothing I can find online helps. The places.sqlite file in my profile is not read-only, and I refreshed Firefox (stupidly, before I took a screenshot of the pinned shortcuts on my New Tabs page) and that made no difference. The only extension I use is UBlock Origin. Changing profiles did not help. This is on my personal laptop and no organization controls my settings.

I stay up to date on Windows 11 and Firefox updates. I do use a VPN but it never interfered with bookmarking functionality before. (I see Firefox offers a free one now but I've got a couple of years left on my paid subscription).

I asked the community but got no replies. (I did "reply" to add more information which no longer applies, and I can't seem to delete the "reply".)

How do I display my bookmarks? They've disappeared and the 'Manage Bookmarks' is next to useless - not at all intuitive! Why make it so difficult????????? Why make such a change????????? I'm 73 and just want to plod-on as usual - I don't want to waste time with a form I don't understand!

As of yesterday, I lost access to my bookmark toolbar and have gone over Firefox instructions about how to recover it without any success. It sends me to the library link and everything I do from there doesn't work.

For about a month I've had to use Chrome because my bookmarks scramble or become unoperatable, then about 4 days ago they started saving again & all bookmarks worked fine. This lasted about 3 days then went back to becoming dead or wrong (may all say 1 or 2) sites I visit. a restart may lose any new bookmarks, & the rest of my bookmarks are either wrong site or dead links. How do I correct? I have tried new downloads & the new Firefox acts just like the messed up version. Probably a simple setting but I give up, can't find the solution. Any help appreciated. You have my permission to change any setting needed to fix Bookmarks. Thanks, James

Hi all. I can tell from a quick google search that this question has been asked MANY times, but I can't find step-by-step instructions for noobs like me who are new to the advanced features utilized to fix this issue. Please, if you wouldn't mind... Can someone provide step-by-step instructions to help me resolve this? I'm running version 154.0.1. I don't want to delete the bookmarks themselves; just that list (permanently). I appreciate your help!

Pri vytvorení adresára v lište s odkazmi na web stránky sa adresár vytvorí na konci zoznamu. 1, nieje spôsob ako určiť poradie v zozname kde sú adresáre aj odkazy. Adresáre by sa mali automaticky radiť ako v stromovej štruktúre pc teda prve v poradí a za nimi voľné odkazy na weby. Adresáre majú nadradenú funkciu.Tvoria skupinu pre odkazy na stránky s podobným obsahom. Preto by mali byť pri vytvorení adresára radené na začiatok zoznamu a nie na konci. Pri 1000 odkazoch na stránky je to dlhý zoznam kým ho nájdem na konci aby som urobil drag and drop a preniesol na lištu z odkazmi do viditeľnej časti na browseri. Môže to niekto opraviť? Táto možnosť radenia adresárov nieje. Iba radenie odkazov podľa abecedy v zozname alebo iné možnosti na jednej úrovni pre všetky súbory. Ocenil by som radenie podľa typu teda adresáre spolu a odkazy spolu,či budú na začiatku alebo na konci teda poradie, a možnosť abecedného radenia pri zachovaní Typu súborov. Adresáre by mohli mať aj priradenú farbu. Ďakujem

On my new dell laptop, Firefox seems to run well. however, when I select one of my regular bookmarks from the dropdown, it ignores the choice and chooses a link (e.g. a news story) from the page I'm currently on, one directly under the bookmark I've chosen. If I choose the bookmark link again it operates correctly.
