I have the e-edition app for my newspaper on my PC. This allows me to read an electronic version of our daily paper. One feature of the app is to be able to print parts of the paper such as the crossword puzzle. When selecting to print the selected section, the section displays in a pop-up which it should. However recently when using Firefox the pop-up displays twice. And when printing again, the pop-up opens three times and then four times and then five times. I can get it to print ok from the last displayed pop-up and then I just have to close all the other pop-ups.

When using this app with Google and Edge this does not happen so I was wondering if there is a setting in Firefox that needs to be changed. Turning off pop-ups doesn't help in that I get the same of screens displayed telling me pop-ups have been disabled.

This odd behavior only began a few weeks ago.

Thanks, JB

Hello gfcdata,

It seems like you're experiencing a specific issue with pop-ups in Firefox when using the e-edition app for your newspaper. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

1. **Clear Cache and Cookies:**

  - Clear your browser cache and cookies. Cached data may sometimes cause issues with website functionality. To do this, go to Firefox Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data, then click on "Clear Data."

2. **Safe Mode:**

  - Try running Firefox in Safe Mode to disable all add-ons and extensions temporarily. If the issue doesn't occur in Safe Mode, it could be caused by an extension. You can disable extensions one by one to identify the culprit.
To start Firefox in Safe Mode:
  - Press and hold the "Shift" key while starting Firefox, or
  - Open the Firefox menu, click on Help, and select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled."

3. **Update Firefox:**

  - Make sure your Firefox browser is up to date. An outdated browser may have compatibility issues with certain websites and applications.

4. **Check Print Settings:**

  - When the print pop-up appears, make sure you're selecting the correct printer and settings. Sometimes, issues can be related to the printer or its drivers.

5. **Reset Firefox Settings:**

  - You can try resetting Firefox to its default settings. This will disable add-ons and restore settings to their defaults. To do this, open the Firefox menu, go to Help, and select "Troubleshoot Mode." Then click on "Refresh Firefox."

6. **JavaScript Settings:**

  - Ensure that JavaScript is enabled in your Firefox browser. Many web applications, including printing functionality, rely on JavaScript. Go to Firefox Settings > Privacy & Security > Permissions, and make sure "Enable JavaScript" is checked.

7. **Check for Updates in the App:**

  - If the e-edition app has its own settings or updates, make sure you have the latest version installed. Check the app's website or support resources for any updates or troubleshooting information.

thanks regards

Thanks for the reply but none of these suggestions fixed the issue. Likely will just start opening the app in Google Chrome. There are a few websites I use that don't work with Firefox. When one calls the vendor they just tell you to use Chrome.
