unsolved & unanswered still: we all need the full steps of how to transfer an old profile into a new profile so that we have two profiles
we all need the full steps of how to transfer an old profile into a new profile so that we have two profiles
two profiles:
1. the current default one
2. and the old profile that has been transferred into the new profile
only comment with the steps very very clearly
---
old profile is firefox dev edition if that matters
good steps would have already included info on if that mattered or not anyway
old version:
could you please list the steps that are needed to create a new profile, and what folder in win10 would that profile be in?
a new profile in addition to the current one
for win10
i'd like to transfer/move a profile i had into the 'new profile' created
need the steps please

Note that some files can contain links with an absolute file path, so always best is not to copy a full profile, but only copy important data files.
See this reply on page one for a list of files that are safe to copy.
What is specifically confusing?
here you go, these are the things that is confusing as had been outlined:
---
'create a second profile'
you cant just copy paste? you need to create a 2nd profile??
why nobody say that?
what's the steps to create 2nd profile?
the link is too complex as someone had already noted (too complex)
it's not listed in simple steps, and there's too much colours and nosie and all this other confusion that makes it hard

well the very unclear and vague steps that one person put (that no robot or programming language woud understand) says to just copy all of it
anyhow depending on how likely this specific problem happens ('some files can contain links with an absolute file path,'), that can be another source of possible problem for getting this hopefully simple thing done

You can copy and paste, but where are you going to paste it if you don't create a second profile first?
You likely can copy the whole thing. Theoretically there could be problems but I've never seen them in the wild.
The steps to create a second profile are above, in the link about the profile manager.
Why don't you try reading what's been posted so far, and actually doing it. Or get someone who is more familiar with computers to help you.
