Firefox failure with Facebook posts

hal.luft đã trả lời
hal.luft

A new Facebook link can open Firefox and work, but subsequent Facebook links result in a failure. The error message is "This content isn't available right now When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it's been deleted."

The Facebook links work with other browsers.

Restarting Firefox begins the cycle again. This has become a problem just in the last month or so.

Hi,

Sorry to hear that. Here are some standard troubleshooting steps that may resolve the issue:

  1. Please check if you have Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) enabled. You can do that by clicking the shield Fx89ShieldIcon icon in the left part of the address bar.
    • If ETP is enabled, try disabling it.
  2. If the problem is not fixed, try clearing Firefox cache.
  3. If it does not help, try clearing cookies and data for Facebook (warning: you will be logged out on this website).
  4. If it also does not help, try running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode. If the problem doesn't persist, please follow the steps from this article to troubleshoot further.
  5. If nothing from the above helps, try creating a new Firefox profile and check if the issue persists there. If it doesn't, you can start copying files from your old profile to the new one to identify which one causes the issue. See this article on what files to copy.

Does any of the above help? Looking forward to your update on how it goes!

Hi Denys,

I had replied earlier that the problem seemed to fix itself, but alas, that was only transient. Now that I'm back home I explored your suggestions in a more focused manner. I worked thru your list and none of the first few ideas worked. In Troubleshoot Mode, however, I discovered that the Extension ClearURL seems to be the source of the problem. This has now worked for two days, with a couple of re-boots to test it.

Thanks so much for your help!!!!

Hal
