@Mozilla Staff: Please don't ruin Firefox.
I beg of you, please do not go forward with the AI focused policies. AI as it currently stands is a rapidly sinking ship that a LOT of consumers hate, and that group is coincidentally the group that most frequently uses Firefox. By pushing forward AI-first policies, you are alienating your userbase, destroying the privacy and usability that makes Firefox special, and you're upsetting millions of people that love this service. Please, for the love of god, DON'T GO FORWARD WITH AI. Stick to what makes Firefox special, and it will flourish as every other browser becomes more and more unusable.

I don't think it will be AI-first, more likely totally optional and opt-in.

According to the new CEO Anthony Denzor-DeMeo, that's where Firefox is headed.

Even so far- It's opt-out more than opt-in, I've had to work to disable all of the new AI features that slow down my Firefox over the last little while. If Firefox's main focus is AI, then its core userbase will suffer. I'm not one of those buffoons that believes AI is sucking out all the world's water or whatever, but I do sincerely believe that AI is not what the world should be working on heading towards right now. It's caused a ridiculous amount of controversy due to abuse & misuse, it's causing PC parts to skyrocket in price, and it's very likely to cause an economic bubble that will pop and hurt everything inside of it.
I already disabled the AI garbage with the global config switch. And after todays update firefox bugged me again about some garbage link preview AI feature. Please, for the love of god, stop with the AI slop. We don't want this crap in the browser.
If it bugged you it means it's disabled and it's enough to hit Cancel to be never asked about it anymore.
New features have to be introduced to users, but it doesn't mean they're enabled by default. It's just a question.

I agree, but it's not a Mozilla's fault. This is fault of US corporations and the government that want to monopolize AI and we can't agree to that.
