I’m using 146.1 for iOS on an iPad and having a similar problem. Hitting the star to bookmark the page dismisses the menu but doesn’t do anything. I can add bookmarks on my desktop and they synch just fine. There are no extensions to disable so I’m stuck at this point.

Just to close this thread out, I upgraded to iPadOS 26.2 and restarted everything which had no immediate effect on the behavior. However, a couple days later, bookmarks are behaving as expected. I'm assuming the bookmark database got corrupted at some point and eventually repaired but that's pure speculation on my part.
