My choice, the "search-tag-and-share" tag link, doesn't even show my thread. "There are no questions that match the current filter settings"

BTW, are you aware of the message spacing idiosyncrasies here when posting? Is there some kind of settings adjustment I can make?

In the right column next to your question, you should see a Tags section.

And in the questions list, the tags should be listed for each question:

Some venues offer the ability to add tags. Why not give us the ability to add "tags" if you believe some sort of pre-designation is necessary?

You can only choose from a list of tags and not add a custom tag of your own.

My opening OP statement was "Most other forums don't impose this type of limited categorization." I was asking why?

However, if you can't find a category that perfectly fits, you can select anything else, it doesn't really matter and it wouldn't impact our support routing. What matters more is what Jefferson mention about posting under the correct product.

Our internal team reviews submissions and can re-categorize the topic as needed. The main goal is to gather insights from our forum activity so we can identify trends and share useful insight with the product team. I hope that clarifies your question.

The categories also help Mozilla surface any related articles or questions already posted by other users to the person posting. However, Kiki is correct -- it's no issue if you need to post something that doesn't fit into one of these categories.
