How do I delete the automatic list that shows when I type a letter in the URL line please?
Hello,
When I type a letter in the URL space, there is a drop down selection of previous sites I have used. Some contain names of people I have searched and I don't want any embarrassment if said persons happen to use my PC. Is it possible to delete the list, or, perhaps better, delete the ones with names?
I'm using Windows 10 with FF x64.
Thanks.

Hi Bonnie, Firefox has different kinds of entries in the drop down.
If you are seeing query terms with a little clock icon, those are "search history" entries. To delete an individual search history entry, press the down arrow key on the keyboard until it is highlighted, then hold down the Shift key and press the Delete key.
If you are seeing search results from your browsing history -- these usually have a title and the search site icon -- the method to delete them is the same, but you also can clean them through history if it would be more practical.
Was it one of those?

Thanks SO much!!!
Hello again,
I think I have deleted the one I mentioned but there's another with a "globe" icon. When I delete this one, it comes back. How do I "clean them through history" please?
Hi Bonnie, the globe icon will appear for history entries, and possibly for bookmarks. To remove an individual history entry, you can use the same arrow/Shift+Delete method. For bulk cleaning, you can call up the Library window using "Show All History" or Ctrl+Shift+H.
Thank you!
