No longer able to copy or paste text on Firefox with Windows 10. Copy and Paste are greyed out in the right click menu after selecting text. Using CTRL-C, V or P does nothing at all. Still works fine in other browsers. What has Firefox broken again this time?

It's a Firefox bug. Reproduced by many. Inconsistent.

...Because the typical "blame the user" attitude is "if you can't reliably reproduce it, it doesn't exist". It's been a randomly intermittent problem for many users for many years.

Firefox has a bug preventing consistent use of clipboard copy and paste. The right mouse click options are greyed out or when they aren't, they simply do not copy or paste anything. (12/27/23). Is there no support for this issue?

It's good that you can reliably reproduce the issue but there are no existing reports for this regression window which could indicate some other software or setting on your system is responsible. Try disabling any third-party security software.

If you change fission.autostart to false in about:config and then restart the browser, the problem does not occur? This is just for testing purposes as it disables the security sandbox.

No. It's not good. I cannot reliably reproduce the issue. Please do not blame me or my configuration. This is a Firefox bug and there certainly are existing reports as I have posted previously. There is no system or software setting that I have changed. I don't have any third party security software to disable as I have none installed. I can't understand what fission.autostart to false in about:config means. As explained previously the problem occurs at random so there is no way of knowing what settings changes do to resolve the issue. What I can tell you is that it doesn't happen on any other browser and that removing all extensions and refreshing FF does nothing to correct the issue.

Please stop blaming the user. I can't understand how you are not having the same problem. Go look at the feedback for Windows Clipboard and you'll see how this problem has been reported by multiple users over the years. It's clear that it's not a Windows problem but a Firefox problem. You don't use the latest version of Firefox? You are not having cut and paste problems like everyone else? Please let me know what version of FF you use that has no bugs so I might download that version too.

This is the bug right here:

FF version 121 is where I have the problem. No 3rd party security software in place. This on Linux running on ChromeOS in a container. Waterfox G6.0.7 no problem copy and paste.

Now I have no idea what you've made me do with the change of fission.autostart to false. How do you "restart" Firefox? I can close the browser and reopen it but no idea how to "restart" Firefox. Do you mean "refresh"? I have done that multiple times a day for days on end and the problem with cut and paste keeps happening regardless. The temporary solution is only to clear the clipboard multiple times per day but it does not resolve the issue permanently.
