restart browser, first tab hangs or does not connect, second tab is fine
Hi, Firefox upgraded to 61.0.1 64-bit (yesterday?), now when I open the browser the first tab (New Tab) hangs if I click on any saved bookmark. When I open a second tab that same bookmark opens almost immediately. That first tab, upon restarting the browser, does not have the Firefox logo, second tab will. Some other things I tried, downloading and reinstalling new Firefox, the first download did not allow me to customize the location of the files. The second download of new Firefox program did allow me to customize my file location. Original filename 7zS.sfx.exe Product Version 18.01, File Version 18.1.0.0. However, when I installed the second version, I opted out of the Mozilla Maintenance Service (MMS). Found info regarding previous releases and bugs https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1472127 - saw a reply about MMS, decided to install it (I did not previously know it was an optional feature), and that seemed to fix the first tab. But when I closed the browser and restarted it, same problem with first tab appeared.
I did try running an older File version 61.0.1.6759, of the program, from a backup drive, that did not make a difference with the first tab.
Also tried changing the places.sqlite.old - did not change the tab. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-hangs-or-not-responding

Hi, 7zS.sfx.exe is not a Mozilla Firefox Distributed file.
Where did you download the file from ?
Suggest upload it to Virus Total : https://www.virustotal.com/#/home/upload
Only download from mozilla.org, Firefox.com, https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/ , Extended Release Version : https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/, this is the one you wanted : https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
Note that Firefox is compressed with the 7-ZIP application and 7zS.sfx.exe of probably the real name of the main program stub (sfx = self extracting archive).
Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.
