Hello,

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
5. Now click the Clear now button.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

I tried it but the problem is not resolved. still yahoo checks mail every two to three seconds...

Thanks... I have shifted to default theam but still the problem prevails. still yahoo mail checks inbox every two to three seconds...

This problem persists even when in safe mode, or when the cash is cleared.

I am using Ubuntu 13.04 operating system. if i use windows, the yahoo mail works absolutely fine. i have tried clearing the cash, i need help regarding how to start firefox in safe mode in ubuntu. Still the problem persists..

I am using Ubuntu 13.04 and firefox will not work in any mode with Yahoo mail.

I have resolved the issue myself. Here is how - 1. Go to Tools -> Add ons manager 2. Go to "Extensions" and disable every thing except "Ubuntu Firefox modifications 2.6" 3. Close the settings and now Yahoo works absolutely fine on firefox....

Suffering the same problem, all I had to do was disable the "Unity Desktop Integration" extension from the Firefox Add-ons tab. Everything worked fine again after that.
