Your Browser is being managed by your organization
I have Norton 360. I just reinstalled a brother printer and now I get the "Your browser is being managed by your organization". While I sync with my laptop, as others have said, I'm not an organization. There is an Enterprise policy .
Active Policy Name Policy Value ExtensionSettings {"firefoxhpsureclicksecurebrowsing@bromium.com":{"installation_mode":"blocked"},"firefoxhpwolfsecurityextension@bromium.com":{"install_url":"https://addons.bromium-online.com/wsx.xpi","installation_mode":"normal_installed"}}
I can't store or edit any bookmarks. How do I correct this? I need answers in very simple terms as I am very much a layman with computers. Thank You!

Hi,
To clarify, are you using Firefox for Enterprise?
Deny, I am uncertain if it is Forefox for Enterprise, but the Policies are:
ExtensionSettings {"firefoxhpsureclicksecurebrowsing@bromium.com":{"installation_mode":"blocked"},"firefoxhpwolfsecurityextension@bromium.com":{"install_url":"https://addons.bromium-online.com/wsx.xpi","installation_mode":"normal_installed"}} Certificates ImportEnterpriseRoots
Just before this occurred on my desktop, I took updates for Norton 360 and Windows 1 on 2 machines- desktop and laptop. Oddly, I have bookmarks that go partway through the letter C.
I appreciate your help.
Also, I do not have the problem on the laptop, only the desktop.
I should also say that other than the clicking on the link for "Your Browser is being managed by your organization", I do not know how to tell if it is Firefox for Enterprise.

On your desktop, click the menu icon in the right corner of Firefox => Help => About Firefox You will see your Firefox version.
I have version 147.0.3
Please also provide the information (text) above the version number. It will tell if you are using enterprise version.
wxie, Providing the right info would help- Here's everything Firefox Browser Firefox is up to date 147.0.3 (64-bit) The rest is the standard what's new Firefox Help Submit Feedback etc.
Norton360 is the issue. Boot windows to safe mode with networking and see if you have the same issues. Windows home or pro? If pro, you should have Windows Sandbox enabled for testing. https://www.howtogeek.com/399290/how-to-use-windows-10s-new-sandbox-to-safely-test-apps/
Remove Your browser is being managed by your organization from Firefox https://winaero.com/remove-your-browser-is-being-managed-by-your-organization-from-firefox/
I have windows 11 Pro.
As soon as I get home, I will try Windows Sandbox to test. I suspected Norton360 last update, because that's when it started, but didn't know
how to check.
I will print out the articles and test it.
I will post an update as soon as I've tested. Thank you!

If I uninstall Firefox and reinstall would that possibly fix the problem with Norton? I can always re-sync with my laptop. EDIT: FIREFOX SYNC IS NOT A DATA BACKUP SERVICE.

I still need to try Sandbox, however when I went into the registry, Policies, there is no Mozilla folder. I cannot find any Firefox policies anywhere in the registry.

FYI... Firefox Sync IS NOT A DATA BACKUP SERVICE https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-set-sync-my-computer https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-choose-what-information-sync-firefox https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/features/sync/ Sync Firefox data https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/sync https://hacks.mozilla.org/2018/11/firefox-sync-privacy/ Sync is not a backup tool but it is a good sync/transfer/move tool https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/contributors/707681
I edited the above post so that others do not assume I was inferring that Firefox sync is a data backup service. I should have been clear- I was only referring to the Firefox settings and bookmarks, NO OTHER DATA.
Since many other threads and this one indicate that the antivirus is my issue and I have no Mozilla "policies" in the registry, I will continue to seek answers or resort to uninstalling Norton and Firefox and try a clean install.
I appreciate the help.
I have tried deleting the policies I found. It has not solved my dilemma.
I did find why deleting the policies was not working, HPs' sureclicksecurebrowsing and hpwolfsecurityextension kept re-installing the policies when I would restart.

Good work. Keep at it and we'll leave the light on for ya. ;-))
Light helps. I need a brighter one when it comes to computers.
Well I am still searching as uninstalling the HP components did not work nor did deleting the policy.
