Everytime I open Firefox a secondary tab opens asking me to complete a tracking survey. I've completed the survey 20 times. How do I get rid of it permanently? This is the web address of the survey https://qsurvey.mozilla.com/s3/tp-perception?reason=expired&shield=3&study=addon-tracking-protection-messaging-1433473-all-users&variation=fast&updateChannel=release&fxVersion=59.0.2&addon=1.0.8&who=5cada667-bc0a-477e-9805-794043c7f12a&testing=0&fullreason=undefined

Hi, please Copy/Paste about:studies to the Address Bar then Enter. If you are enrolled in a user interface experiment, it should be listed on this page and there should be a way to uninstall/remove or to opt out.

Then Update Preferences --> Tick 1 of the boxes that is there then take the Check Mark out of Allow Firefox to Install and Run Studies. Then take the Check Mark out of the other box if so wish to but would be great if put it back in so that when you post a question here again/or not we have data to work with.

More info about SHIELD studies and how to opt out globally if you prefer: About SHIELD Studies. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/shield

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Sometimes extra tabs get saved with your home page. If this extra tab shows up in every new window (you can test by pressing Ctrl+n), you can check that setting on the Options page:

  • Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
  • Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
  • Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
  • Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

In the Home page section, in the text box, you can have multiple addresses separated by a vertical bar ("|"). Do you have anything extra here you could delete?
