What happened to my games? They disappeared.

Two games disappeared for no reason. I re-updated Flash Player but it made no difference. One is Tetrollapse and the other a Mahjong from the same website I think.

The Mah-jong aka solitaire match-up game I'm looking for came from: http://www.freegames.ws/games/boardgames/mahjong/freemahjong.htm Is there any chance you could track that one down too?

Just now saw your post - dealing with different time zones .....

Thank you for the extra information  !

You could check here from time to time to see if www.freegames.ws is working again :

Hi,

If these are Facebook games, I'd ask you to take a look at this article :

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-problems-facebook-games-chat-and-more

But you don't seem to be sure about what site these games are on ..... (?)

Hi  !

'Found Tetrollapse here : http://www.online-game.tv/play/tetrollapse

In Options => Add-ons => Plugins : have you set 'Shockwave Flash' to 'Ask to Activate'  ?

When you're on that page you could go to Page Info (little 'i' in a circle, at the left end of the address bar) => More Information => Permissions tab and scroll down to 'Activate Plugins' => Adobe Flash : uncheck 'Use Default' and check 'Allow'.

As for Mahjong (unless it's a game you play on Facebook), I've found this (old) thread on the Microsoft support forum :

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/mahjong-game-disappears/a722b27b-0092-419e-959f-b73843bbed54?auth=1

Which won't be much help .....

However : I found a Mahjong add-on that maybe you'd like to give a try :

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/mahjong-online/

The Tetrollapse is where you said it would be. Thank you so much.

I don't know about the add-on. I couldn't get it to work but will try again later.

I don't have Facebook or any other social media, nor ever will. I am 78 and not tech-savvy in the least (which is why I can't get the "add-on" to add on). I always knew the "mah jongg" game wasn't mah jongg. My grandmother played the "foreign ladies' version" of it back in the other 20s, and I live in Chinatown where it is played daily nearby in a niche of an alley out of sight of kibbitzers and police.

Hi the site http://www.freegames.ws/games/boardgames/mahjong/freemahjong.htm at this time appears to be down so can not check out what is going on but it appears you have the address right.

A visual look for Flash as per Happy112 answer : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/set-adobe-flash-click-play-firefox

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

You're a wizard!

I will check out the website as you suggested and hope it comes back.

I don't really have a time zone. I work nights three times a week on a national crisis line so I schedule everything around that. That's also why it's important for me to have those simple games to play after things have been very tense. It doesn't matter whether the end of the call is good or bad; I still have to "come down." So it's not just fun. The games are a way to keep sane. This has happened before over the years but I never found any help before - the games have just vanished. You have no idea how much your solutions are appreciated.

Totally understand why those games are important to you  !

I'm not quite sure : did you get that 'Tetrollapse' working again  ? If not : you let us know, you hear  !

And if 'freegames.ws' doesn't give you back your Mahjong : you could always give that add-on a try - if at first you don't succeed, try and try
again ..... (easy for me to say, eh  ?)

What you said about Facebook and other social media : totally with you  !

Yes, got Tetrolapse back. Many, many thanks.

Hi PennAgain!

If you still haven't managed to get the Mahjong add-on to work, there are a few other sites that have this game. Unfortunately, unlike freegames.ws (which is still down), most of the sites are full of highly intrusive adverts.

The game is called Mahjong Titans and can be found on a number of sites including:

Mahjong Titans on Games XL.com

Thanks for looking, Katsue. That site seems to require Chrome to work. Said the site lacks support. It doesn't have the characters I'm used to anyway (I am accustomed to more kanji-like designs). Spoiled, I guess. Giving up on trying to find a substitute. Perhaps it will find me some day.

Right now I'm concerned in getting all my saved email off of Yahoo which seems to have turned it's horrible operations over to a company (Oath) -- "oath" indeed! -- that will take what little is left of my privacy and identity and "share" it with the world. Now you know my woe -- all of a sudden the familiar games have become both inconsequential AND a great consolation.

Keep helping people. So far, after decades, this is the only publicly available site that has offered (and given) helpful precisely personalized information JUST LIKE HUMAN BEINGS ARE SUPPOSED TO DO WITH ONE ANOTHER and I do appreciate it.

What version of Firefox are you using? I've checked to see if the site and game work with both the latest version of Firefox (59.0.2) and an older version (53.0.3) I have on another computer. Both the Flash and HTML5 versions of the game work on the older and the newest version of Firefox. (Please note that the Flash and HTML5 versions of the game look slightly different from each other - and that you would have to enable Flash for that site - as detailed by Happy112 - to actually see the Flash version, I think.)

Anyway, sorry if I've been unable to help you re-find the game, but very glad to help a little with the "actual human support" aspect of things!
