Youtube videos from channels open as playlists. Is this Firefox's fault?

I recently downloaded Firefox because of Shockwave Flash problems with my old browser. Unfortunately all the videos from YouTube channels open as a playlist... Which is more annoying than the Shockwave Flash problems. Is this a feature of Firefox, or does YouTube work differently on Firefox? Can I change it, or must I get another browser?

Hi Lazs1, In your youtube.com url do you notice this at the end of any of the urls: "&list=" that autoplay? It should autoplay if it has that, but not if its not included in the url.

Do you have an example url where this happens?

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.

Flash is notorious for not cleaning out the older version as part of an update. Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac Then reinstall the latest version.

Update your Shockwave Flash v14.0 r0 http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/ The link for Flash Player v14.0.0.179 http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

After having removed older Flash version you can start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing this problem if it still exists.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Didn't help, but I did realise that I don't need to reinstall Flash in order to see videos. At least now I have no more Adobe software, so it is still a huge improvement. Thank you :-)

So the "&list=" is in the URL. Do you know why it is there, and how can I prevent it from automatically being incorporated into my URL? It only happens on Firefox.
