Bonjour, Thunderbird/ Windows 10 home /64bits 1 Depuis 2025/03/15 Envoi de mail impossible (réception OK) 2 J'effectue 2025/03/17 une restauration de Windows au 2025/03/12, date du dernier message envoyé sans problème. 3 La restauration dure plus de 6 heures ! mais j'ai un pop up Microsoft qui confirme la bonne exécution. 4 Je vérifie le fonctionnement général : Internet OK, profil Thunderbird OK, Points de restauration antérieurs au 2025/03/17 disparus; compte tenu de la durée exceptionnellement longue de la restauration je pense que windows a dû procéder à quelques réparations..il semble d'ailleurs un peu plus "agile". 5 J'effectue une double sauvegarde de mes données (profil TDB inclus), au cas où... 6 Je démarre Thunderbird , ECHEC !; message "Couldnot load XPCOM".

Je propose de désinstaller TDB puis de le réinstaller; qu'en pensez vous ?

I want to get rid of the spam and archive folders, to free up real estate. I can specify that I don't want anything archived, but that doesn't get rid of the archive folders. I can undo the default adaptive spam filtering and set up my own "delete" filters, but I don't know how to remove the spam folders from my edresses. Are there ways to do this? I prefer the older design, though I understand that some users want those folders.

As of yesterday my Thunderbird account vanished, screen asking to set up an account. I am too old to be an IT expert, and I need detailed step by step guidance how to restore that account, full of Inbox emails and folders/subfolders. If it matters (depending on requirements?), my address is @verizon.net - which is pop3 but I have no problem opening the same emails on different devices, as if it were imap (verizon taken over by aol). Pain in the neck, hope to get help.

I haven't used my Win 11 laptop in a while. I started it up and let Thunderbird run. It had several months of emails to download, but has now stopped at early March. I asked it to continue and get a message "Unable to write email to mailbox. ....." I know there is plenty of space on the harddisk. I cleared out a lot of the junk emails from earlier months and emptied the trash. Rebooted. Updated to latest version 128.8.1esr. Still same error message.

Hi, I am working on behalf of my dad to figure out what's going on with his Thunderbird client and trying to understand if it's a client issue, or an issue with his email address.

The e-mail address used belongs to The Messaging Company (as they have bought out iiNet/AAPT). There are issues where my dad is logged out constantly and has to retype his password, and sometimes is unable to send or receive mail. I have updated server in-going and out-going according to The Messaging Company's suggestion. I've attached screenshots.

Let me know what else I can do to troubleshoot if this is Thunderbird client or issues with the email service.

Can you please create a Flatpak version for "The official monthly release. This release is intended for users who want all available new features and bug fixes on a monthly basis.", so that we can get updated to versions such as 136 sooner rather than later? Cheers Pieter

When Tbird first began it was easy to see which folders were Imap and which were local. That distinction disappeared a while back and I still had all my imap folders but no indication of which were which. When I want to access them the popup menu did show "gmail" (since that is my email domain) and the imap folders there. But when I go to create a new folder it does not show up in the imap list even though I want it to be an imap folder.

How do I create/manage an imap folder in the current Tbird?

Is this due to some setting? I use Thunderbird for multiple gmail accounts. Need help because I have a huge inbox and it needs managed into multiple folders and I can't seem to get it to work. Number 2: Does the retention policy for a folder actually send a delete instruction to the server? I want to know how I can do that so I am actually deleting messages at the server as well. What all info do you need?

For the last few months, I've been having some issues with frequent lockups while accounts update. I'm now having issues with indexing, and being able to search and find messages. According to the activity screen, indexing freezes around 97% on the Inbox of my main gmail account (~17,800 messages total in that inbox, indexing stops around 17,300 and hangs).

Version: 128.8.1esr OS: Windows 10 Accounts: 4 all IMAP (2 gmail) Largest inbox: about 17k messages

Troubleshooting done: 1. Repaired folders 2. Rebuilt global Index 3. Removed All mail from sync 4. Excluded antivirus (Windows Defender)

Is there any way to find the email is causing the lockup? Any other suggestions?
