I was away from my computer for a few days and when I got back to it and tried to download emails, they wouldn't download even though they had done so prior to my absence. I have tried everything to get it to work to no avail as per "help" advice on community support - nothing has worked as yet. I am now at a total loss and extremely frustrated. Could you please give me some practical advice as to how to sort this out. I believe I have the latest update installed since the program tells me I do. I use Windows 11

I previously posted a question and it was answered by Matt however, the answer did not bring me a solution. Here it is again: I had a folder named Documents where I used to store important emails, receipts etc. I believe that after compacting the emails my folder disapeared along with 90 % of the content and now I have a new folder named Dolcuments 1 which I did not create myself. Can some one tell me perhaps how can I recover my previous folder ? and NO the repair option for the folder doesn't work.

Email. I’m getting multiple email copies from many different accounts. Some I know some are junk. I'm up to 940 emails?

I use spectrum(no help). Thunderbird 128.0esr 64bit. It started 10/8 @ 9:22 PM?

And I can see emails on spectrum web mail/RR but can't download them. When I try to download I get more of the same (junk/good) emails? Any Idea's please

I already tried putting Thunderbird as a shortcut into the C:\Users\<myAccountName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo (aka. shell:SendTo) folder. But when I use the "Sent to" menu and select Thunderbird, the file to be attached just gets openned by Windows as if I had double-clicked on it. Thunderbird does not even open a new message.

I also tried changing the call of the Thunderbird shortcut in the SendTo folder to: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" -compose attachment= At least, then Thunderbird opens a new message. But it just writes the path\filename of the file to attach into the attachment section. When I then try to send the message, Thunderbird says it cannot access it under this path.

after using Thunderbird for years, new incoming email now display as: LP/dfHZJml//VOFFsq+rhu5OJP4DCm6cS7aNBZz0K1VLckif83iE0ZZkBM+RBJ3qjtpfOARokH9i with many more similar lines -- always the same text string though. I have restarted the app, the OS, safe mode, reinstalled the app -- nothing makes a difference. The email are displayed correctly on other machines running other email clients.

HI, I have TBird 102.15.1 64Bit installed on several different PCs and laptops. On my main Laptop I checked the Roaming\Thunderbird folder properties and found the following: Size on Disk: 35.8 GB Contains 253,172 files and 1,533 Folders. Is their anyway I can reduce the size? My TBird seems to be running slowly and occasionally stalls. I do not want to switch back to Outlook client program, I am not a Microsoft supporter. I do know I could move mail to local folders but would that mean I could only access them from one machine? Thanks.

Hello. This happened back in July and I got on Mozilla but never got an answer that worked so I am trying again. Back in July, a friend of mine who has a pizza shop asked me if I would go onto Google and write a review. I said sure and went onto Google, logged in and wrote a review. From that point on, I had a problem with getting onto my Thunderbird account without having to log onto Google first. No, I had never had to get permission to go to my Thunderbird account and suddenly that changed when I logged onto Google to do that review. If I want Google, I can log onto Google, but I do not want them to be controlling my access to Thunderbird. Someone gave me a list of things to try and I did but none of them did the trick. I have a handicapped child so things like this can get a low priority but I am going to try again. Thank you, Philip

We mail out publication notices to subscribers. The Titles and Highlights come from a MySQL DB that stores text extracted from Adobe InDesign or PDFs which include typographer's punctuation and may also contain HTML tags added for display on the website.

All data is stored, encoded, retrieved and displayed as UTF-8 using PHP and PHP mailer on Win platform. Other common Email clients tested, including Outlook, display the message content correctly. T-Bird (current) displays error characters for all entities in html view yet the message source correctly reads all charaters in accordance with UTF-8. We have tried every imaginable method from binhex to literal string replacement in regex and an array of PHP functions. Nothing works. The source is correct, the rendering is not. It would appear that T-bird is broken. Does anyone have a clue?

Hi, tbird 128.3.0 esr 64b w11p. A prob new to me. Only for MS outlook mail (aka office365 email, but no ofc365 on my laptop, just the email in tbird). -in unified folder view, my MS mail acct (it still has the "hotmail.com" address, but works), is not present -- that's the problem. A workaround is that I can choose both "unified" and "all" views together -- but while the MS mail acct now appears in the folder pane at the top, as well as in its own "place" at the "accounts" area below, that MS mail acct not longer has its messages appearing in the "message list" pane. I have to go to MS Mail's own place below, in the folder pane (as stated above),to see its msgs. in msg pane.

 I could use the "all" view, but it's not as nice & I never have had to choose that before this prob.

- I did run "repair folder" for MS mail's own inbox (again, below, in its own place below, in folder pane, accts). And I restarted t-bird.No change in behavior, unified view does NOT list my hotmail emails.

I have used & am comfortable w/config ed, but only when I have the proper instructions you may post in your potential reply (I am not a coder).

Searching calendar events in Thunderbird used to search both title and description fields. For example, if I searched for "dental" it would find events titled "Dental appointment" and also events with "dental" somewhere in the description field. Now it only seems to search the title. I've always put most of the information in the description field, and I use the calendar primarily as a diary record of my life and things I need to keep track of, so this is a major downgrade in terms of usability for me. Is there any way to still search the description field?

I have been having a problem for several months now in Thunderbird. When I Unsubscribe to newsletters, emails, or offers (can be anything from items I buy to political spam), I am directed to an Unsubscribe page. I unsubscribe, yet I continue to get the emails from these companies and people. This is not one company--This is ANYTIME I unsubscribe. I tried repairing my Inbox and that didn't work. What is going on? I am drowning in emails I don't need and can't stop them!

my hotmail account just stopped allowing me to sign on. I was directed by microsoft to update my current settings which did not work Any suggestions? failed update procedure was as follows:

Mozilla Thunderbird does support Modern Authentication and it is recommended that you ensure you switch to use those settings. Any account that you add to Thunderbird will now automatically setup using the proper settings. You have the following options: Option 1: Update Current Settings 1. Change Thunderbird's server settings: Select ≡>Account Settings. In the left pane, select Server Settings for your Outlook.com or Hotmail.com account. ForAuthentication method, select OAuth2 (instead of Normal password). 2. Change Thunderbird's authentication method for sending messages (SMTP): Select ≡ >Account Settings. In the left pane, select Outgoing Server (SMTP). In the right pane, select your Microsoft account and thenEdit…. <image> For Authentication method, select OAuth2 (instead of Normal password). <image> Select OK to save your changes. Option 2: Remove Current Account and Re-Add If you remove your current account from Thunderbird and then re-add it, the proper settings will be detected, and you will just need to sign in to be properly configured with Modern Authentication and the proper server settings. Right now the calendar display is pretty sparse, only showing the title. See the screenshot. I'd like to be able to show some of the other info that's in entries. For instance, I'd like to show location and description. How can I do that?

Hi, suddenly, when I open emails in my inbox that have not yet been opened, the same text appears as the content of all of them: "--001a1134c2e2bee406050f4be2a3--". In the case of old emails where I have viewed the content correctly, the correct text remains visible. Are there any hints about what's going on? Thanks, Joaquim

For a few days many emails I receive appear to be in code and the exact same code from May 17, 2024. Some messages are OK. Even going back before that date when I look at an email again it can be in that code. It looks like this (partial email):

I have three email accounts in Thunderbird on my Windows 10 PC which are all with Yahoo. The accounts are ex Sky accounts but are now run by Yahoo.

I am replacing that PC with a Windows 11 laptop so I need to migrate.

I exported the Thunderbird data using the export tool and when I imported the file into the new Thunderbird installation on the laptop I got three pop up messages from yahoo asking me to agree to allow access but they all related to the first of the accounts. I can send and receive from the first account but can neither send or receive from the other two accounts.

I have tried deleting the last two accounts and adding them manually but the yahoo pop up again refers to the first account.

Any suggestions?
