It now works properly. I don't know why. Is there something you have done?

If it doesn't resolve after a restart, you might try accessing Use the Troubleshooting Information page to help fix Firefox issues and click the button in the box for "Try clearing the startup cache" and restart.
Clearing the cache and restarting did not solve the problem. I suspect when Firefox was updated to allow different profiles my problem started.
Could you post a screenshot how that state looks for you, and verify the settings for the home tab (i.e. in its customization settings, verify stories are checked, or go uncheck them — restart — and enable them back again, to see anything improve)?
Next steps would be filing a bug, so just making sure it's a not a cache/connection issue beforehand. (There were some issues with that endpoint couple weeks back, so I'm wondering if some broken state gets stored since…)
Here is a screenshot ohttps://assets-prod.sumo.prod.webservices.mozgcp.net/media/uploads/images/2026-05-19-10-34-08-ea778f.pngf what happens when I open Firefox.
It isn't our default homepage, but some add-on right? You have to ask the add-on developer about it, or switch to default homepage.
It does look like our New Tab to me (stories not loading)? But I'd still be happy if Greg could confirm
There seem to be more people experiencing the same: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1583307
Was there anything that helped to unblock the news feed from this state?

Glad to hear!
I don't think anything has changed, just that it maybe needed some more time to expire any stale response and push new content to you. Thanks for taking the time to post the update!
