I click on mozilla and it won't open; what do I do?

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling mozilla and it didn't help. I updated my plugins and it didn't help. I ran a PC registry cleaner and still mozilla won't open. When I click on the icon the hourglass comes on for a few seconds and then goes away, but nothing else happens. I've restarted my computer repeatedly to no avail. AAARGH!

Can you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
