Key logger waring

username666777666777

Firefox installation failed due to keylogger permissions or due to malicious software. windows 11, fully updated, Paid antivirus plus full scans run regularly. Please help.

I know it's possible but could it be a false positive? If real what can I do?

Thanks

Hi, if you downloaded an installer, I would not try that same installer again.

I'm going to assume this is a new installation of Firefox, but if this occurred during an update, please let us know.

Further detection details

Does your antivirus software have logs that provide any additional details? In the past, some programs objected to the decompression software in the installer (from 7-zip), but the message you relayed doesn't explain why the tool made the assessment it did, so perhaps it's a different issue.

New download

Please use the following page to download the "full" installer directly. You then can submit it to the VirusTotal service to have a wide variety of AV engines check it before running it.

Do you see anything unusual there?

Good day to you sir. I had a year of very personal hacking last year, since then I've become become paranoid. Everything has security key, 2FA, authenticators etc.

Yes I have and do use the saved file during installation sometimes, particularly during from one drive as it's backed up there.

It only pops up near the end of the installation, some times I try to install 3 apps at the same time.

The mouse starts to freeze, then disappear, eventually comes back to workongt

For the "what is going on" phase:

What I do myself is search the exact message on Google along with the name of the AV software. Sometimes their AI section has good links, but otherwise, I scroll down and look at reports on forums like bleepingcomputer.com or reports on security company websites. Then I have more context to assess why I might be seeing the message with a specific installer.

For next steps:

If you scan and it's clean right now, I would try getting the installer through the alternate method I mentioned.

Thank you for your time and help. I spoke to Firefox A.I. ,having to explain everything to it like it's a child

Anyway it came up with I can go ahead and post it.
