How do I stop all the folders opening when first load up thunrderbird?
i manage 8 email accounts for different projects I run.
When I open thunderbird, all my folders in each email open up. Is there not a setting to say don't open folders?

AFAIK, there is no setting for that. If all your folders are closed when quitting TB, then they should be closed when opening TB.
Which version of TB and OS?
Does that also happen to folders in [Troubleshoot mode](https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-mode-thunderbird/)?

I close all the folders, close down T/B when I reopen T/B all the folders are opened automatically T/B 140.11.1esr (64-bit) Windows 10

So you are saying the same thing happens in Troubleshoot mode?
