I can't get my Firefox notifications to show up in the Windows 10 Action Center

When I access "Notifications & actions" in Windows 10 Firefox isn't even present in the list of available "senders". Chrome is there along with other several apps, but Firefox isn't there so I can't even select On/Off.

There is a setting that might work to switch Firefox to using the Windows 10 Action Center, but it's normally turned off because it apparently causes "instability" on some systems. I don't know how serious that is, whether it means you might get notifications late or miss them completely. If these are non-critical notifications, you could experiment if you like. Here's how:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste alert and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the alerts.useSystemBackend preference to switch the value from false to true

That might not take effect until the next time you Exit out of Firefox and start it up again.

Hi toocxc, I think on Windows Firefox manages its own notifications and doesn't send them to Windows.

Is the problem that you get unwanted notifications, or that you are not able to get notifications you want? or both? or neither?
