Is the software quality of firefox going to the dumps?

I have been an avid user of the Firefox browser for years. I have a number of websites I use and depend on to conduct my daily "online" activity. I have had Google Chrome installed for about a year and currently find my self going to the Chrome browser for hang-ups and non-responses which I cannot resolve in Firefox. Moving over the Chrome, it appears to have no problems. My observation is that Firefox is rich in new features but lacking in simple quality and stability. Am I the only one?

If you are having performance issues on Firefox, I'd recommend reviewing the Fix Firefox using too much memory or CPU resources page for more information.
