I'm using Firefox 45.0.1 and OS X 10.9.5. I want to be able to listen to music while browsing, so I need to be able to block sound from Firefox. Is there a way to do that?

Firefox recently added the ability to mute the sound in each tab. For more information on this feature, please refer to this Mozilla support article:

You can also try installing the Muter Firefox addon to your Firefox for the ability to mute all sounds from Firefox.
