"Port Flood" problem being caused (apparently) by Firefox

My hosting company claims that accessing my site's admin panel causes a port flood problem. Because of this my IP address gets blocked and I have to contact the hosting company to unblock my ip address. It only occurs when I'm using Firefox. I've checked other browsers - Safari and Chrome - and neither seem to cause the issue and thus as long as I access my site from either of those browsers, my ip address doesn't get blocked. There is very little information that I can find on this issue anywhere, but does anyone have anything they can offer as to how I can troubleshoot this?

Log info from my hosting company's support:

Feb 24 08:40:59 ldz2 lfd[19932]: *Port Scan* detected from 96.253.59.62 (US/United States/pool-96-253-59-62.prvdri.fios.verizon.net). 21 hits in the last 222 seconds - *Blocked in csf* for 3600 secs [PS_LIMIT]

Does this happen in the same profile?

Try to boot your Mac in Safe Mode.

No, don't do the Refresh {previously named Reset}. Let's do some troubleshooting first, while not destroying your Firefox configuration settings or data.

IMO, the first thing to do is try the Firefox SafeMode. Firefox SafeMode If that has a positive outcome, proceed to this support article to try to pinpoint the problem.

If that doesn't solve that, then try a new Profile to see what happens. Create a new Profile Don't delete your current Profile - this is just more troubleshooting.

Then you may need to try the Mac Safe Mode. http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262
