Youtube screen is black. WHY?!

My computer installed its own updates this morning when I turned it on. For some reason, when I tried to do my biology homework, the interactive multimedia wouldn't work. I thought "no big deal, must be a site problem" but now youtube won't show videos. I don't get an error message at all. Just a black, empty screen. No play button, no speaker selector, just a big black square. I have the AdBlock thing for Firefox, but it never caused problems before. How do I get youtube back to normal?

Actually, there have been some conflicts reported with Flash and AdBlock Plus recently. Not sure that would have any effect on your Biology homework, however.

Just to confirm, does Flash work normally on Adobe's "about" page?

I was having the same problem with the default installation of firefox on fedora 19. I solved it by temporarily blocking cookies from youtube.com as in the attached screenshot.
