opening a private link gives me a .net.com unknown address how do i get rid of the .com?

more options

When I go to the link to take me to the bill pay of my banking account,I get a flag that says that the ".net.com cannot be opened. All other sections of the account work fine. The bank checked for 3 days to see if they had a problem and have no other complaints concerning this problem. I just went to Firefox17,to see if my older version was corrupted and still had the same problem.I do not know how to change an address accessed by a link.

The link works fine with internet explorer.

The bank might have suggested this, but just in case... Did you try clearing your cache and cookies? When you have a problem with one particular site, that's a good "first thing to try".

(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache

Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.

(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these. While viewing a page on the site:

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

Then try reloading the page. You likely will need to log in again.
