Hi, I've been using the Study Guide pages at proprofs.com for months, running XP SP3. I used to use IE8 but started a scripting course that doesn't run on IE, so I downloaded Firefox 15.0.1. All was working fine until this week on the proprofs.com pages, I see only their logo at the top, then nothing for around a minute while Firefox says "Waiting for ignitad.com..." at the bottom, then the rest of the page opens at once. IE8 also takes long to open the pages now, but I"m asking this here because I see many Firefox questions about "waiting for" and I didn't seem to have any particulars in common (ad blockers, add-ons, etc). I don't have delays with any other sites, and the proprofs.com pages open quickly at my job on Win7 IE9, so the problem seems to be going on that site here on this PC. Any suggestions?

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Thanks, unfortunately this had no effect, I'm still having 1+ min load times of these pages. However, I've been emailing with the Chief Technology Officer of ProProfs ahd he attributed the issue as being with one of their ad providers. As of yesterday they said they resolved the problem, but I let him know nothing's changed on this end. The problem occurs in Firefox and IE, and apparently only for XP users.
