Bullshit Pop-Up Ads.

Given that the last answer for this complaint was garbage, so let me try it one more time before I remove bullshit Firefox altogether.

I have contacted almighty Firefox on Twitter, but that proved to be a waste of time. I also sent an e-mail to almighty Katharina Borchert and Mitchell Baker about this, but neither of them could bother to reply. In any event, what I am complaining about are pop-up ads which appear in the lower right corner of the webpage that usually have to do with some type of financial come-on for information regarding a stock or a report of some kind. I thought that this annoyance may have to do with gmail, but as that did not make any sense to me I am strongly suspicious that it has to do with bullshit Firefox and some way for them to make money for their non-profit company.

If anyone may have any intelligent feedback about this, I would be most grateful to hear from you.

Respectfully,

Gregory P. Falasz

Firstly, surely you understand why the Mozilla board of directors doesn't answer random support emails.

Next, there are a number of things that I will suggest for you. The first is something that was recommended to you twice in your other threads, but you dismissed as worthless: disabling Web Push Notifications. These notification messages would be similar to the behaviour that you described in your question. It's possible that a website tricked you into granting access and is now sending notifications to Firefox. The easiest thing to do is to revoke access to all websites to ensure that's not the issue.

If that doesn't help, try running Firefox in Safe Mode. This is a special troubleshooting mode that disables your extensions and reverts some settings temporarily. This is a good way to ensure that it's not a setting or extension installed on Firefox that is causing the issue.

Finally, if that doesn't help, I'd recommend scanning your computer for malware. In most cases, the free scanning tools will find and fix any popup issues. I highly recommend running both the free version of Malwarebytes and the free AdwCleaner utility.

Hope this helps.
