Is the folder on the Bookmarks Toolbar or on the Bookmarks Menu?

You can get the longest (tallest) lists using either the Bookmarks Sidebar or Bookmarks Menu, or in the separate Library window.

(1) Here's the general help article on the sidebar: Use the Firefox sidebar to access bookmarks, history and social features

(2) The Bookmarks Menu is available from the top menu bar (File, Edit, View...) which you can display temporarily by tapping the Alt key or F10 key, or persistently. To keep it turned on, call up a toolbar list in any one of these places:

  • right-click (on Mac Ctrl+click) a blank spot on the tab bar (or the "+" button)
  • (menu bar) View > Toolbars
On Windows, tap the Alt key to activate the menu bar temporarily.
  • in Customize mode > Show/Hide Toolbars (see: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars)

To turn on the Bookmarks Toolbar, Menu Bar, or other bars, click it on the list.

(3) You also can add a Bookmarks Menu button () to the main toolbar. To add that button, either:

(A) Use the Customize panel (Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars) to drag the icon to the desired spot on the toolbar

(B) Use the method from Bookmarks in Firefox - section entitled: How do I add the Bookmarks Menu button to the toolbar?

  • Click the "Library" button:
  • Click "Bookmarks"
  • Click "Bookmarking Tools"
  • Click "Add Bookmarks Menu to Toolbar"

(4) The Library window can be summoned using either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+b
  • "Show All Bookmarks"
