I have tried and tried to Bookmark a web site so I can add it to my Toolbar, but it's not easy like it used to be. What is the method for doing this in Firefox 49.

There haven't been any changes to the bookmarking system recently. It should be the same or similar to how it was before, depending on what version of Firefox you were using previously.

Please refer to this Mozilla support article for further information on bookmarking websites in Firefox:

If you are having trouble finding the bookmark button on the toolbar, you may need to customize the Firefox controls to put the bookmark button back onto the toolbar.

Please let us know if you require further assistance.

I still can't find the "star" in the article. I used to be able to right click on the site and add a bookmark. Not any more.

I opened up the Customize option and the only thing that indicated a Bookmark was a red heart? I put the red heart on the toolbar but it didn't seem to do the trick.

This is very frustrating. I never had this issue before.

Thanks for trying to help.

With all due respect to my colleague, there are a few changes to bookmarks in Firefox 49 that I have seen. - A stupid "Recently Bookmarked" menu has been added to the 'Clipboard' button drop-down and to the Bookmarks Menu Bar drop-down. - If the Bookmarks Toolbar is hidden and the user saves a new bookmarks to the Bookmarks Toolbar folder. the Bookmarks Toolbar will suddenly appear.

This support article - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/create-bookmarks-save-your-favorite-webpages - needs to be edited to reflect the changes.

vegaspatt,

The "paired" Star | Clipboard button should still be on the Navigation Toolbar and the Star should still be in the Contextual Menu; those were not changed nor removed. Something is askew with your Firefox installation.

Try the Firefox Safe Mode.

Or use Customize and Restore Defaults.

Sorry, but I am still working on this issue. I don't know why I'm not seeing the things you guys see. I've clicked on many things, printing off your responses and will continue to work on it until I figure it out. Sure would like to see a blue star vs a red heart. :-(

Have you installed anything that would customize Firefox? Like may be a theme aka Appearance in the Add-ons Manager?
