Firefox has a special list of Most Visited pages calculated from your history. Search engines might not rank very high because each results page you load has a different address. Firefox considers those to be different pages even if they are all ultimately from google.com.

To add a new site to your Bookmarks Toolbar you can do this:

(1) Open the page you want to add (2) Drag the little "circled i" icon from the left end of the address bar to the place where you want the new bookmark and drop it there

To edit the title of a bookmark -- either to shorten it or make it more descriptive -- right-click the bookmark and choose Properties. The "Name" is the part that displays on the bar, and the "Location" is the actual address.

Does that let you do what you want to do?

Note: I am assuming you meant on the Bookmarks Toolbar. If you meant in a different location, where do you want the Google bookmark?

I want it on my most visited line, where I have already Gmail, eBay, and Amazon. I don't need it as a bookmark, but thanks for your help.

Where is the most visited line on your Firefox? I'm not sure what you're referring to if it's not the bookmarks toolbar.

For example, is it in your home page, or on the new tab page, or somewhere else?

It is just underneath the main menu line, you know, where you type in the URL. It shows up whenever I'm on the Internet. It's very useful.

Do you mean the drop-down list that appears when you start typing? The first item usually shows how Firefox will navigate if you press Enter to click the Go button at that point. The choices below are based on your bookmarks (show a blue star) and on the frequency/recency of your visits.

Here's an example of what my Firefox displays for goo in the address bar. I'm sure your top pages are different, but is the general display the same?

If you mean the little triangle which shows a list of frequent/recent pages, that list cannot be manually edited.

No, that's not it either. Never mind, I give up. Thanks very much for all your efforts.

Sorry I can't see your screen, that probably would help.

If you get motivated to pursue this further, consider posting a screen shot. This article has tips on how to capture one: How do I create a screenshot of my problem? Please cut out or blur any sensitive information in the image file before attaching it to a reply.
