hi burl, the latest version of flash that you should update to is Flash Player 18.0.0.194 - it fixes various vulnerabilities that are actively exploited in the wild. the update is available at https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html - for firefox please use the windows exe-installer for plugin-based browsers.

The solution does not work as of this date. I have 18.0.0.194 but it is showing as out of date and Firefox is blocking all Flash content, because the latest version is apparently 18.0.0.203 but when I attempt to update Flash Player when prompted, all I seem to get is .194 One confession is that I am running an old PC on XP, and the machine does not quite meet system requirements (it has a 1.86 Ghz chip rather than the "required" 2.33 GHz minimum). Could that really be the problem?
