As several others have pointed out, since the most recent update, my browser minimize and close buttons do not work. This is not a malware issue, as you are trying to get out of trying to come up with a fix for this. I have no malware on my computer, and everything worked fine until you did your upgrade. Please fix this, or I will be forced to revert back to Internet Explorer. It closes and minimizes just fine!

Is the Firefox window maximized?

If that is the case then the tab bar can be at the same level of those buttons and prevent them from working properly.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You could also try a different Windows theme and/or disable Aero (transparency) to see if that makes a difference.

It appears to be a problem with the Firefox browser. If I open Internet Explorer, and then close it, the buttons work on the Firefox browser. But I have to first open IE browser to get them to work. Anyone else that is having the same problem, try this, and see if it works for you too.
