Could you provide more information about which downloader it is? As many details as you can. Thanks.

Sorry, didn't realize its full name was "fb Downloader".

According to one removal guide, this may show up under the name Yontoo in Firefox's add-ons page.

Try disabling ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.

Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

To restore the default Firefox home page, new tab page, and Google as search engine, this is a one-click solution: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/

If you prefer to customize those individually, these articles should help:

By the way, one trick when using the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program, is to click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. Then you can see whether you got some undisclosed bundle items and identify the source, as well as hopefully remove them.
