Windows 10 Pro Laptop: Version 22H2, OS build 19045.3086

I have a Microsoft outlook.com email address that I use for my FF account. My authenticator email was setup in Authy without problem however FF does not accept its 2FA 6 digit code which makes me think the app may not be compatible with FF. My cell and laptop are setup to auto recognize location for time setting.

Comments please...

Hi John

That app is not supported for 2FA security for your Firefox Account. This support article lists the supported apps:

Hi Paul

You may not know this but the link you provided has another link under step 2 that opens the Authy download page, sorry but I had to give you a thumbs down. The support page also misleads by saying that the Manage Account is accessible, it is, but not if one is using Authy. In the end I turned off 2FA because it was burning through my 10 digit recovery codes.

Even the FF authenticator add-on will not work on a FF account webpage. Google Authenticator will only allow google email addresses but it can with some difficulty be forced to use a third party email domain such as Microsoft. The same can be said of the Microsoft Authenticator.

The Authy app for a Microsoft account should not be returning a six digit code it should be returning an 8 digit code. Altogether, this is disgraceful and I feel sure other users are experiencing similar difficulties. The 2FA paradigm has become subject to partisan interests and Mozilla should think seriously about removing the feature until those interests have been resolved.
