Popup Box over Hyperlink Too Large (bug)

more options

When the mouse is held over a hyperlink or one of Firefox's tabs, a large black box appears containing information about that link or tab. The box is sized much larger than necessary. For instance, a box containing the text "Google Calendar" is over a third of the screen width and is tall enough to contain 5-6 lines of text. A restart of Firefox fixes this problem, but only temporarily.

I would include a picture, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do so with this post.

I only noticed this problem in Firefox 23.0 I am running Ubuntu 12.04

Thanks, Andrew

Hi Andrew, you can post a screen shot by attaching it to a reply to yourself. (Posting images with the original question is on the "to do" list for the future.)

Since there is a delay before the problem starts, this might not be practical, but you could try Firefox's Safe Mode for a few hours. That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

Any difference?
