Youtube will not play on firefox. I get a message on the screen that an error occurred. I have updated, deleted, and downloaded everything that has been suggested. Works perfect on Chrome.
I simply want to watch Youtube on my Firefox browser. I don't care for Chrome.

Hi brushcreekgarage1,
Can you share the full error message you get from YT when they refuse to play the video?

This error usually means your browser or app lost its connection to YouTube’s servers. Can you please try the following and see if any of these help?
- Disable extensions: Ad blockers or third-party YouTube enhancers can interfere with video playback. Turn these off and refresh the page.
- Clear cache and cookies: Accumulated corrupted data in your browser is a major cause. See Clear cookies and site data in Firefox.
- Use a Private Browsing Mode: Open a new PBM window and log into YouTube. If it works there, you likely have a conflicting extension or corrupted cookie in your main browser.
I disabled, cleared, and it still wont play in normal or PBM. This started being an issue about 2 Firefox updates back.
If you've already tried all of the above, you may want to create a new Firefox profile to see if the issue also occurs there. If everything works correctly in the new profile, it may indicate that the problem is specific to your current profile.
For instructions, see Manage Firefox profiles.
