Hi,

Since installing the latest FF update (148) a few days ago, I have trouble replying to any topic on this site: https://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/. Prior to this update, there was no problem in replying or posting to the forum.

I do not have this problem on any of the other forums of which I am a member, only this one. I can log in and read posts with no problem, but I cannot reply to any post. I am also unable to start a new post on this particular forum (of which I am a Moderator). There is no flashing cursor when I wish to post, and I also cannot 'copy & paste' a reply either.

I have disabled Malware Bytes, Dark Reader and AdBlock plug-ins, this makes no difference.

If, however, I run FF in the "Troubleshoot" mode, I am able to to post replies to this forum. I have reinstalled FF v148 twice, the issue remains.

Testing the same forum with Opera browser I can access and reply to the forum above, even though with Opera I use the same plug-ins mentioned above turned on. It appears to thus be a FF permissions issue. I have cleared my Cookies and cache but this did not help.

Do you have any other suggestions? I am a FF user from day 1 all those years ago and have no desire to change to another browser.

When trying to play video from https://www.camelbackresort.com/resort-information/live-cameras, I get the following message:

The media playback was aborted due to a corruption problem or because the media used features your browser did not support.

I'm running Firefox 148 in MacOS Ventura (current version)

I've tried the following:

Turning off Privacy Badger Turning off the default add blocker Starting the program in Safe Mode Refreshing the browser Turning off DRM Controlled Content Turning off Use recommended performance settings Deleting cookies related to the website Clearing cache and temporary files

None of the above had any effect. I was able to play these streams in earlier versions.

The streams will play in Chrome but not in Safari so this may be the result of a change in the website that was not tested outside of Chrome.

Any other suggestions would be helpful.

I just upgraded my Dell desktop computer -- Win 11 and some other hardware tweaks. Everything is fine -- but an old problem that was resolved some time ago in this forum has reemerged. My mouse wheel does not scroll properly at all with Google Calendar. I recall a simple solution on this forum that worked perfectly a few years ago when I originally set up the computer. It has apparently been removed, and I can not find anything to resolve the matter. Does anyone recall the secret formula? Is it hidden away somewhere? The scrolling is so convenient, and the instinct is hard to break.

I have no issue with youtube on any other browser, but I do prefer Firefox. However, Fierfox says that site is slowing down firefox and suggests I close that page. Firefox did not do this in the past. Is this similar to the rather ugly color of the private window that I can't change, not being a coder? The impression I get is that Mozilla is making changes without assuring they work properly. I currently have to use chrome to make sure youtube works correctly.

I am trying to ope the website: https://sumukeys.com/ however, upon opening, immediately closed. I did try all recommended settings from Firefox and also from Google. Nothing helps. Simultaneously the MS Edge browser does work with this site.

These are the two opend email sites that I always use with no problems until this last few weeks, photos added show when links are clicked on the page and the resounding resaults.

I realy hope that someone can realy help.

So far all other emails that I receive open with no problems.

Running Firefox 140.8.0esr (64-bit) on Windows 10 Pro on an HP laptop. The feature/problem described works properly with Chrome and Edge. The problem occurs when accessing the following article:

If the window is set wide enough, there is a sidebar displaying, "Share this content in X". If the screen is squeezed down (i.e. drag the right margin to the left) far enough, the sidebar will disappear. That feature is handled properly, but as the window width is increased and the sidebar appears, the main body of text does not wrap properly. It appears that Firefox is not compensating for the width of the sidebar.

 NOTE: As I am not a HTML expert, my subject line referencing a particular HTML class could be misleading.

I've been using Firefox for a long time, but recently, browsing YouTube has become a nightmare. The newsfeed lags significantly and scrolling is not smooth at all. Interestingly, the same site works perfectly fine on Brave and Chrome. I've tried clearing the cache, but the stuttering persists. Please optimize the hardware acceleration and AV1 decoding for mobile devices. Hoping for a fix in the next update! Also sometimes YouTube videos don't play. But the same video plays in another browser on the same internet.

When i try to connect to some websites, firefàx prompts "error 502 bad gateway" the same websites work on EDge !

Suddenly I have a South African Facebook occupying my fire fox log in. It won't let me go into my account. When I use Safari on the same Macbook I can get access, so somehow it was become fixed to my fire fox browser. How can I get rid of this South African Facebook block or should I just remove firefox as my long time browser. I've done all the cookie deletes and regular stuff. This last week my Firefox browser is having problems with a number of sites, Home depot, Lowes, Best buy and others. I tried cleaning cookies and cache, re-installed Firefox but nothing helped. since many weeks, a lot of website don't work any more, sometimes it work in private, sometimes not at all. i have to use chrome, i hate it but after 20years of use of mozilla, i'm ready to change because of this problem, i don't want to waste my time to use 2 navigators, or try 2 every day.

Scroll bar issue on some websites When accessing certain websites, the scroll bar disappears (for me, it's on the right side of the screen), and it's no longer possible to view the page content, even using the keyboard's scroll keys.

TODAY BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS OPENING PAGES BEYOND HOMEPAGE. SEE ATTACHED IMAGE. HOMEPAGE LOADS LOADS NORMALLY BUT LINKS WITHIN HOMEPAGE DISPLAY ACCESS DENIED. WITH OR WITHOUT ENHANCED PROTECTION. I'm stumped. For years I kept Firefox on my Windows machine (Win10, 64bit, 8gb ram) at some level around 80x (I forget the number). I even recently switched over to Edge until I got fed up with its complicated design. So when I went back to Firefox, I upgraded to the latest 147.0.3 (64-bit). At first everything seemed okay. But then I noticed I was having trouble posting comments on any Washington Post comment section OR the whole thing would freeze up or other oddities. ONLY there. Everything else runs fine.

To add to the mystery, I walk upstairs to where I have a Mac (Sonoma, with 64gb ram) with Firefox 143.0.1. And I can post comments on the Washington Post, nothing freezes, everything works fine. So it can't be a problem on the Post's site itself.

Back on the Windows machine I have tried various Firefox settings, changing the permissions from strict to standard, changing the performance settings, turning Add ons off and on one by one, running in Safe Mode. But no changes change the problem on the Post comment section.

I'm at a loss to understand the difference. The Mac does have more Ram, but previous to my upgrade on the Windows machine, it was running the Post site just fine.
