Everything is larger with latest update [FF 22], webpages and interface. Starting with addons disabled does nothing. I do have my Windows font size at 110% but that never affected anything before this update.

Hello slyman928, go to about:config, find layout.css.devPixelsPerPx , and change the value (double-click on it) between 0.05 and 1.0 (default value is -1.0), probably the 1.0 is the solution.

thank you

hello, firefox 22 is now respecting the pixel density you've set on a system level in the windows control panel > appearance > display. more information about that is availbale at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/make-the-text-on-your-screen-larger-or-smaller

if you want to set the text size/pixel density in firefox different from that of your system's settings like it was handled in prior versions, enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named layout.css.devPixelsPerPx. double-click it and change its value to 1.0 (or any other zoom factor that fits your purpose; -1.0 is the default value and will adhere to the system settings).

any idea why this was changed? what's the benefit of it? seems like an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of thing. i noticed that i'm not the only one posting questions about this today.

i feel like the interface was the only thing that was affected by the OS dpi before but now webpages are as well so both webpages and interface are now tied to each other with this layout.css.devPixelsPerPx setting.

webpages go back to the size they were before the update with a value of 1 but the interface text is too small as a result. i've chosen 1.075 as a good in-between but it's kind of lame that i'm being forced to make this compromise.

the change has been made because more and more devices contain high resolution displays (what apple is marketing as retina displays) - for such devices it is essential that the content is rendered as set on the OS level, otherwise it would be too small...

ah i see, so it's apple's fault. friggin macs. disappointing that the devs are catering to mac users. i feel like this gave more people problems than it fixed things for.

i feel like there aren't even that many people who use ff on a mac. or is that the reason? so more people will start to..

Yes, we need a way to alter the webpage zoom without affecting the interface. The "compromise" setting of 1.075 isn't really doing it for me. Interface still too small, webpages pushing too big.

Do NOT put a value of 0.05. I made that mistake and the print was so small it looked like lines. I could not restore it, even after uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox and rebooting, etc. I finally had to restore my computer to an earlier time. Got Firefox back, but EVERY LAST ONE OF MY BOOKMARKS is missing! I agree with below... if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Firefox, you should have left well enough alone with the text size. Now I lost all my bookmarks. BTW... I tried to restore them, but the only date option it gave me was July 4, 2013. Ummm. that's tomorrow. Kind of hard to restore something from the future.
