I cannot get my email attachments to open. How do I fix it?

When I open the software first thing in the morning, the very first email with an attachment will open. After that none the email attachments will open. I haven't changed anything so I don't know why this is happening.

hold shift while you start Thunderbird and continue in safe mode when prompted.

Yes that fixed the problem. What does that mean? Is there something wrong with the software or my computer?

Does it work correctly now in normal mode? Sometime that is all it takes.

Other times you have to work out what add-on that was disabled was causing the trouble.
