Der Start von Firefox (und jedes Fensters oder Tabs) ist seit Version 56.0 extrem langsam

Seit dem automatischen Update auf Version 56.0 dauert der Startvorgang von Firefox, jedes Fensters und auch jedes Tabs ca. 35 Sekunden.

Hallo cor-el, leider hat alles obige nicht geholfen, außer das Booten im Safe-Mode. Das hieß, dass ein Treiber Schuld sein mußte. Abhilfe schaffte letztendlich das Updaten auf eine neue Version von Kaspersky Internet Security. Danach lief alles wieder normal. Gruß Ulli

Try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if that works.

  • Windows: hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox
  • Mac: hold down the Options key while starting Firefox

You can try to modify multi-process settings to see if this has effect.

  • set dom.ipc.processCount to 1 if it is currently set to a higher value (4)
  • disable multi-process windows in Firefox

You can disable multi-process windows in Firefox by setting these prefs to false on the about:config page.

  • browser.tabs.remote.autostart = false
  • browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.
