Options/General/Downloads still doesn't give me choice after changing setting here.
I've changed the setting for the download choice per the article at the location described in the question above. Regardless, I am still not offered the choice of a destination for downloaded files. I have the most recent edition of Firefox installed.

Hi mrcart, It should let you choose, it still does in my FX44 in Windows7 & 10. I guess something has gone wrong on your PC or some other software or addon is interfering.
Look at
- What to do if you can't download or save files_reset-the-download-folder
- Presumably you did see Manage file types and download actions in Firefox
If you still have problems try in Firefox's safemode and give further information please.What is happening
- Is it just using the default download location without asking you ?
- Are the downloads succeeding
