Whenever I bring up Firefox the homepage won't load. "This url is invalid and cannot be loaded" comes up instead. I can still browse the internet.

Whenever I load up the page the main firefoz homepage won't load. It just says "This url is not valid can can not be loaded". I tried restarting firefox and putting it in safe mode nothing works.

That is because your homepage URL specified to firefox is invalid, you can change your homepage from Firefox > options > General Tab

you will see a input field with name "home_page"

What is the homepage URL displayed in Tools > Options > General?

Copy and paste the URL of your desired homepage in the Homepage text area.

As long as your computer can connect to the internet successfully, you should be able to browse the internet using Firefox.

Clear the cache and only cookies from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
