Fn-Delete not working in file name field when downloading files from internet.

Work

I have a new MacBook Pro M5, with MacOS Tahoe Version 26.5.2, and currently running Firefox 153.0. Over the past few days, I've noticed that the Fn-Delete (forward delete) is not working in the file name field when downloading a file from the internet. Fn-Delete is working everywhere else.

I'm not certain if this started when I set up the new computer, updated the MacOS or updated Firefox. I'm pretty sure all have occurred within the past couple weeks.

Thanks.

Interesting… I think I can see the difference between 151 and 153 … and given there has been a change about the "globe" shortcut (your Fn is mapped to Globe key, right?), it could have been affected. Or, well, the actual API for file pickers have changed, so the former one had no access to Edit menu, while the new one seems to consume the Fn+backspace key combo inside the Edit menu somewhere instead of doing the forward delete as is probably the thing you'd like to achieve.

Ooh I see it now, it triggers the "Edit" › "Delete" menu item, which, alas, only works on selections, but doesn't do forward–delete just right of the caret. (That's underwhelming.)

I'll check if this is tracked somewhere. Thanks for flagging this!
