Copy sent emails to Sent going to folder None

An issue I have just noticed is that when I send emails they weren't getting copied to the accounts "Sent" folder despite the box to request this being ticked. I have now discovered that on another settings page it had the "Sent" folder set to None and I had to explicitly associate "Sent" with the sent folder in the account before emails were copied. It would be helpful if when ticking "copy sent emails to sent folder" there was a warning if it was associating "Sent" with "None".

Just had a couple of issues with sending emails from Thunderbird Android ... I don't tend to send many emails from my phone so didn't notice the issues for some time!

A few weeks ago I ended up changing my email server's password - I updated my PC Thunderbird to reflect the change for incoming and outgoing servers and then thought I did the same on the Android Thunderbird - but I only changed the password for fetching - perhaps missed the sending password as in the Android version its in the account menu rather than a separate "outgoing server" menu item.

Everything seemed ok as I got emails on my phone but yesterday someone complained I'd not replied to some questions and I was sure I'd replied to their email. Looking on my phone today I noticed that there were a handful of unsent messages (including this reply) in the Thunderbird Outbox.

Basically when I sent each message the connection to the outgoing server failed due to the now out of date password but instead of giving any warning that the connection had failed it had just silently moved the message to Outbox where it remained as the outgoing server connect attempts would continue to fail. Having some form of warning that server connections were failing due to incorrect password would be useful - I think the Windows version will ask for a new password to be entered if a login with the current one fails. Note: the checks when setting the password means you cannot configure the account with a password that fails but if the password changes you get no warning

I have used Thunderbird without issue for a few years. Today, my inboxes are partially full and emails have mysteriously disappeared. I opened it in safe mode and all the emails are there. I followed help suggestions to disable extensions and addons. The emails have not returned to my inboxes but still appear in safe mode.

I am not a techie and find this very challenging.

Souhaitant déplacer les messages du dossier "B" vers le dossier "A", j'ai surligné tous les mails du dossier "B" et j'ai déplacé l'ensemble des message en les faisant glisser vers le dossier "A" qui n'avait aucun message à sa racine. Le résultat est que le dossier "A" qui n'avait aucun message à sa racine bien qu'ayant à présent en information 6 messages non lus et 11 message au total, n'en contient aucun. Par contre ces messages sont toujours dans leur dossier d'origine "B". Question n° 1 : Faire glisser des message d'un dossier vers un autre n'est il pas possible ? Hi I am trying to reinstate a email account that stopped working. It's a gmail account. I've got it back to the point where it says it's connecting ("Looking up..." then "Looked up") to the account but I can't see any folders. No messages are being downloaded. No other errors. I've checked the setting in Gmail. Not sure what else to do. Please help. I can't even delete the profile and restart, the profile isn't anywhere to be found on my PC. I've unhidden files and searched for Thunderbird and it's not there.

This is Sheila Herman and my email address is: swherman@twc.com. Now, there are two sections (top and bottom) to my email and the top section is gibberish. I need a Thunderbird email address so that I can send a copy of that gibberish page. I did reply to Matt's email with an attachment before I realized that his email address does not accept reply. Good morning, today I updated Thunderbird and after that I noticed that when I try to open emails saved in different locations (folders) they open without content. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

See attached a screen shot of an email which opened in Thunderbird has content but saved elsewhere and opened no longer has it.

Want to why this is the second time after an update that my emails have gone to only showing web links and not the actual email content i.e. images and text. Plus how do I change it back as not very tech savvy and don't want to have to save yet another file of these old emails to set up again to get them as readable visual emails not links. Have to go to a link to see the emails correctly this is not good when they could contain not wanted information.

I recently stopped receiving my Optusnet emails via Thunderbird, although I can still receive them via Optus webmail. As previous users have found out, changes were made to Optus's platform which didn't support Thunderbird, all without notifying customers. However, after lengthy discussions with Optus, they have assured me that they now support Thunderbird and after checking all the settings I should be able to receive emails via Thunderbird. However this is not the case and I am still relying on webmail. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance. aandr1
