Help: Unable to copy my email lists when using export function to migrate profile to new computer.

It is March 17, 2025. I am using Thunderbird 128.8.0ESR (64bit) on Windows 11 Home (version 24H2) on BOTH COMPUTERS! When I use the Thunderbird Tools Export function from my old Window 11 computer to my new Windows 11 computer it copies all my email and folders correctly. I can send and receive email fine on the new computer. However, it fails to copy over my Thunderbird address book and my email lists (the address book and lists are blank). I tried multiple times. My profile is 76GB large. So I tried navigating to C:/Users/Profiles/app data/thunderbird/roaming/profiles/profile name to perform the move manually. Still no luck.

About 2 years ago. Thunderbird versions had the ability to export address books separately. That option is no longer available. So if you know of a way to export my lists of addresses (each lists is a thousand email addresses) That would also solve the problem. -Eileen

I have installed Thunderbird on a new Lenovo PC using the latest version of Windows. I have copied the settings manually and correctly from a laptop in to the settings for the accounts on the PC. Thunderbird does not give any errors for collection of email though none are appearing in the inbox. There are messages on the server waiting to be collected.

There is a timeout on the SMTP when trying to send messages so no messages are sent.

I have checked all the settings and they are as follows: POP account port 110 smtp port 587 Using START and normal password authentication for both.

I have tried numerous other permutations of configurations as well as restarting Thunderbird after every change. As I mention these are the identical settings used on the laptops which the PC's are replacing. The PC is connected to the internet via ethernet cable and the internet functions fine.

Any ideas out there or anyone having had a similar experience and found a resolution?

The small green dot in the upper right that notifies me of a pending update is gone, since several months. When I navigate to About Firefox, or in the settings, I can see that a new version is available and it lets me install the update. But I miss being able to see the notification.

Did I disable some setting by mistake? Auto-updates should be turned on as far as I know.

This most recent update of the Firefox app for Android has suddenly made it so that all of my bookmarks and bookmark folders are out of order. The desktop version does not have this same problem, and syncing between the desktop and mobile accounts does not seem to fix anything.

Another issue I noticed with regards to bookmarks on mobile is that where once I could pull down while in the bookmarks tab to 'refresh' the sync, this feature suddenly does not work either.

I have done 4 total clean re-installs of the app and signed back into my account each time. The app then works as normal, with no bookmarks/sync/refresh issues. Within the next day, however, the app restarts itself and the bookmarks are scrambled again with no sync refresh operating.

I have tooled around the support forums and seen that at least since Ver. 133 other people have had this same issue. The support forums are really not user intuitive and I do not know where to go to have an actual conversation with the developers instead of hoping someone responds to a thread if they feel like it.

I really enjoy using Firefox as my default browser, and have never had this issue before on mobile after any app update until now. If the developers could please take the time to look into this request and work out a solution that doesn't include re-installing the mobile app every other day, I and many others would be very appreciative.

After 30 years of using Thunderbird with no problems, yesterday opened my account (with my wife's email also) and everything was gone. I managed to get my stuff back but today I worked on my wife's and, while I got her email address to appear in my account I can't get anything else - folders, emails, saved emails, etc. Obviously mine was hidden somewhere because I recovered it pretty readily but I'm having no luck with my wife's. The only things of hers that appear are her inbox, trash, and outbox. I'm delaying telling her because she will be justifiably extremely upset. HELP!

very frustrated, and pissed at how programmers always screw things up that are working just fine by upgrading crap. Now, I have suddenly had all of my addons quit working, was forced to update my firefox. Nothing changed, and it still shows that I am using version 105, instead of the all-new, better and fancier, singing and dancing crap that is being forced upon me.

I recently was able to successfully install Firefox on my Chromebook via Linux following instructions on the site. I have received notifications about an update from March 14th and I do not know how I can install this update. Can you please walk me through the steps required. It does not seem to install automatically and now my extensions don't appear to be working anymore. Thank you.

Hi, Sadly having big problems transferring Thunderbird onto new WIN11 PC. Been at it for some days now.... The old PC's C drive is now installed on the new PC (as a spare drive) so all the original Thunderbird files are still intact I believe. I have always kept my email files in separate dated folders on the old PC HD and so have about 27Gb of data (965 files in 111 folders) all under AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles/xxxxdefault However after installing latest Thunderbird version and trying to substitute the above original profile I find the old stored files are not visible on opening Thunderbird. the software tries to download huge number of files from the server, and there is no Address Book data from previous old PC install. Tbird still displays No message found, does not allow user control, then starts "Not responding." In can only hit the top right, red X, and close the program. The same happens when I start in Troubleshoot mode. I'm running Windows 11 with the latest updates. Is something wrong with my profile?? What can I try next?

- Firefox/ Help/ "About Firefox": 113.0.2 (32 bits), no update proposal - Launch the . exe file from previous download In the "About Firefox" window, version 135.0 appears well during installation When the computer is restarted, this panel has returned to version 113

The computer works normally and perfectly meets my needs (emails and internet searches), so it is out of the question to change it (it would be scandalous from an environmental point of view)

Running TB 136 on my new Macbook, I transfer my old profile from TB running 128, I use IMAP. The first thing that I noted was emails in my Drafts, Sent, and Spam folders did not transfer, and the Template Folder is missing. I did the transfer by moving a copy of my TB profile to the new install. How do I get the missing emails and the Template folder?

J'ai arrêté mon pc dimanche dernier dernier et quand je l'ai rallumé vendredi et lancé Mozilla j'avais tout perdu. Comment récupérer mes données tout en sachant que je n'ai pas de sauvegarde. One of the things I love abt Firefox Focus is its simple Google search page that won't show any trending topics and it really makes it a no fuss browser.

But after the recent update in android 136.0.1 , I am utterly disappointed that the thing I loved the most abt this browser is no longer there and Google search looks just like it looks in the chromium based broswers.

I want developers to consider this request to make it look like before, it would really make this actually a No fuss browser.

Hi, I keep getting a message that I should update to a newer version of Firefox on Ubuntu. The problem is: I click on the install for 64 bit button, A ...tar.xz file downloads to my desktop, and the process ends completely. How to proceed?
