Suddenly stopped receiving mail and can't send. Asking for password for account at startup. I haven't set a password for Thunderbird. I have changed my Verizon and’ for ‘Thunderbird’ and have tried using that as well as just clicking OK and also entering a "spacebar" key. I have deleted some emails to make more space. I can access Thunderbird emails prior to Nov. 16 in the afternoon but cannot log in too get new ones. Previous to that date Thunderbird did not ask for a password to my verizon.net provider.

Compare your settings with these:

incoming IMAP: imap.aol.com, 993, SSL/TLS, OAuth2, email address

outgoing SMTP: smtp.aol.com, 465, SSL/TLS, OAuth2, email address

Enter the account (not app) password in the OAuth window when prompted.
