Lost Tabs due to opening a new window

Hi

Lets say i have 100 tabs open in my session. I mistakenly open a new window with one tab. After closing this window and starting firefox again, it starts with this one tab, so i have lost all my previously opened tabs. Is there a way to get those back?

Thank you very much. Dimitris

In the History top menu there should be 'Recently closed windows option.

Hi Dimitris, in the era of pop-up and pop-under windows, this was a constant problem, so I know how you feel.

For immediate recovery, try the tip from TyDraniu. Either use of the menu or the keyboard shortcut:

  • "3-bar" menu button > History > Recently Closed Windows
  • (menu bar or Alt+S) History > Recently Closed Windows
  • Ctrl+Shift+N to reopen the last closed window

As a more general safeguard, quit Firefox using the menu instead of using individual X buttons or trusting Windows to close Firefox for you. Either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > Exit
  • (menu bar or Alt+F) File > Exit

When using Exit, Firefox should record all the current windows as "open" and reopen them automatically when you restore your session.
