I have used Mozilla Firefox as my default browser, for years. Recently, I used a program to clean (what it said was) junk files from my computer. Unfortunately, I did not make a rescue point. After removal of the files, several of my programs, including Firefox, has no longer worked as it once did. I was always able to go into settings to select my browser, my search engine, my home page, etc. That is no longer possible. I was wondering if I should uninstall Firefox and reinstall - or is their another easier way to repair my problem?

Any help I can get is much appreciated.

Hello. I have a question about Firefox. I shut down my PC and turned it on two hours later, but Firefox is still displaying page layouts properly, images on pages aren't displaying, and the screen remains blank even when I load a page from a bookmark. How can I fix this? This is the first time I've seen this happen, whether I've restarted or shut down and restarted.

Since the 148 update, copying and pasting has been completely broken in google docs, sheets, etc. I get an error every time I try to and am forced to reload the page after which nothing has even been added to the doc. I know I am not the only one with this issue. It happens across different OS'es. Just seemingly out of the blue I started getting Firefox captive portal warnings. Most websites load normally but if it's a new site i.e. one I ahven't visited in a while I get the "you must log into this netrwork before you an access the internet" message. I am and have only and always been on my home wifi with this computer, it's a laptop but has never been out of my house. Forefox seems slow lately and I keep getting this message. Other browsers work fine by the way.

Links keep opening in new windows, and not within new or same tab. Shift key is not stuck and all toggles in the Tabs Opening/Interaction Settings field have been turned off

I like to use picture-in-picture mode to watch a YouTube video in the corner of my screen while editing an image or playing an online game (since I like having something to keep my brain active while I'm doing something). Recently, however, this has resulted in my computer locking up. I don't really know how to describe it succinctly, but audio becomes super stuttery and it takes a second or more to render a single frame. Last night this resulted in the loss of an in-progress image (don't worry, I took photos of my screen so I could recreate the image), so I want to figure out how to stop this.

Is there anyway in the setting to stop a shortcut from being added every time I visit a site? I only want sortcuts that I use. I have attached a screenshot circling the ones that keep popping up as an example.

just installed thunderbird on my new windows11 laptop and tried to add my comcast email account. i entered the email address and password and it sent me to a comcast web page to validate my email on imap.comcast.com. i am not on my home network so they sent a code to my phone which i entered successfully. it then asked for the address on my (comcast) account. i entered it and it told me it didn't recognize the address. I called comcast and finally got a human to talk with. we verified that my comcast account was set to allow third party access to my email. that's all the help she could give. i've run thunderbird on my windows 10 desktop with my comcast email for years with no problem. Has anyone encountered this problem?

I have 18 shortcuts that I have added to the Firefox desktop, but every time I open a new link, a shortcut is added to the desktop. How do I keep these unwanted shortcuts from being added to my Firefox desktop?

I have left Shortcuts toggled on, since I want to see the 18 shortcuts that I have manually pinned. Fine so far.

I have unchecked Sponsored Shortcuts, but I still am seeing sponsored shortcuts. What am I doing wrong?

Sometimes, I cannot click on an option on a form (on my up-to-date Firefox, on Windows 11 - help, please! Its usually only when the options are shown as little buttons or squares to tick off. Its not my mouse because it works for the usual mouse works.

I can't enter the tick/click necessary on this form to say "Email me when someone answers this thread" Cheers, Carol

Due to an internet outage, I got forcibly signed out of my Firefox account. I signed back in, but all my login info and passwords are just gone. I still have my browser history, and I'm even still logged in to some of my accounts, so I know some of my cookies and cache are intact.

I am using Firefox on Windows 11, in the process of switching from Chrome.

I run Cockpit (https://cockpit-project.org/) on web servers that I manage, and when I log into it on Firefox the screen flickers constantly, making it unusable.

There is no issue with any other web sites I have visited, and I can still use Cockpit when in Chrome. So ay suggestions on how to troubleshoot and resolve the issue with Cockpit and Firefox?
